Minerra Ghana is a Ghanaian mineral-recovery company built to unlock hidden value from historic mining waste — while restoring the land it was left on.
We exist to prove that responsible mining and profitable mining are the same thing — when you start from what has already been dug up.
Minerra Ghana was founded on a simple observation: Ghana's historic mine tailings still hold recoverable gold, and the environmental cost of leaving them where they are keeps compounding.
We combine deep local knowledge — Ghana's varied geology, its regulatory framework, the community dynamics that shape every mine site — with the engineering precision that large-scale producers expect from their contractors.
Every project we take on is judged on three outcomes: gold recovered, water treated, and land returned to a state better than we found it.
Recover gold from historic tailings, heal the ground it was mined from, and return value to the communities the original mines left behind.
A single Ghanaian partner for the full reprocessing lifecycle — assessment, metallurgy, plant design, recovery, water treatment and rehabilitation — held to the standards large producers require of their contractors.
Africa's leader in sustainable gold recovery from mine tailings — the first call when a producer, a government or a community needs a legacy dam turned into a resource.
A future where "mine waste" is a category we've stopped using — because the last generation's tailings are the next generation's feedstock, and the ground they sat on is farmland again.
The reason to build Minerra Ghana was never abstract. It was a specific number, on a specific dam, in a specific district.
Historic tailings storage facilities across Ghana's gold belt were built to the recovery standards of the decade they were poured. The gold left behind wasn't left because it was uneconomic — it was left because the technology of the day couldn't reach it.
Two decades later, gravity concentration, flotation, carbon adsorption and modern water treatment routinely recover grades that used to be discarded. What sits in those dams today is not waste. It is a resource, in a location that is already permitted, already accessed, and already surrounded by a community that carries the cost of it every day.
Minerra Ghana exists to close that loop. Recover what can still be recovered. Treat the water. Return the land. Do it with Ghanaian engineers, to the standards the world's most demanding producers apply on their active mines.
That is the whole story. Everything else — the plants, the flowsheets, the partnerships — is a way of executing on it.
Every flowsheet is built on measured mineralogy, bench-scale testwork and pilot verification. No promise leaves this company that the metallurgy has not already delivered.
Water treated before discharge. Cyanide destroyed to below detection. Land returned to a state better than we found it. Rehabilitation is a deliverable, not a hope.
Ghana's geology, its regulator, its community dynamics — these are not risks to manage from outside. They are the terrain we grew up in, and the reason our projects hold.
JORC- and NI 43-101-aligned reporting. ISO 14001-grade environmental controls. The same governance a listed producer applies on an active mine — applied on the tailings behind it.
Minerra Ghana operates its own tailings-reprocessing projects. We work with capital partners, offtake buyers, landholders and technology providers who want a stake in Africa's next chapter of gold recovery — done responsibly.
